Printmaking + Keith Haring=

8th Grade enjoyed printmaking!  Keith Haring Art worked great with this project.  Have a look below-

Directions:

I did a little "spill" on Keith Haring.
I had several of Keith's drawings available for tracing.
The kids chose a drawing.
Then, they used carbon tracing paper to put the image on the linoleum.
Once the image was imprinted on the linoleum with the carbon, they used linoleum cutters to cut the linoleum.
I told them that they had to make at least 4 prints with various ink colors.
After the prints dried, they glued them on a larger sheet of paper and used sharpie to place "Keith Haring" style designs around their prints.

When printmaking, the process almost always involves bloodshed.  The kids say, "It hurts!"

Here's Bad Bad Hats with "It Hurts."  I heard them open for Third Eye Blind in Athens, GA.
