3 Pinch Pots = 1 Snow Person (Clay)

Hi all! Just a quick update for a pinch pot lesson. We created 3 pinch pots and made snow people. Some wanted details like hat and scarf others just wanted theirs simple with not much detail. 

I think for a one day lesson these turned out pretty cute!

Clay Holiday Ornaments with Watercolor and Acrylic Paints

This was a first for our Lower School Holiday Ornaments. We feel like they turned out great. They were rolled out on slab roller and cut with circle cookie cutter. Fired on medium at 04. The clay was a white color. Students then created different holiday / winter scenes on them with the use of mixed media. Some used watercolor and crayons for a batik effect. Others used acrylic paint. They were sealed with a spray polyurethane. Mrs. Hicks added finished touches with letting the students choose the ribbon to use on their final pieces. Love this...glad I was able to share! Would be cute for Valentines using hearts - Jim Dine style!

Lower School Art classes learned about Greg Mike with Mrs. Hicks. They practiced cutting and their spacial skills after learning about him. Fun fact is he is located in Atlanta! Which is pretty close to us in Tallahassee.

This lesson could be done any time of year especially around Halloween. These are fun monsters. They might even make a cool Valentine! Thanks, Cathy for allowing me to share!

Alcohol Ink Creations and 2 Soul Sisters Folk Art Summer Camp 2021

This is one of the units in our Summer Camp. Alcohol Ink lesson was super easy and fun. A great introduction to this type of medium. The camp students were had one on one help with 1965 to create these as they required a lighter.

This unit was a fabulous one to teach during this camp. Kids loved it and all were successful! Scroll down for more pictures. Yes, we still have a few more post on last summer's camp. I think we sent each camper home with 25+ items. It was a successful busy way super cool camp! We made these ceramic tile trivets and we used the stainless steel washers to create medallions for necklaces and bracelets.
