Clay Sugar Skulls

Clay Snow Globe Ornaments Painted with Acrylic Paint
This was a very clever idea from our Lower School Art Teacher, Cathy. She did a micro unit on how to use the slab roller and showed the students all of the ins and outs of that piece of clay equipment because when they get to middle school with me they just need to know how to use it on their on in my 3D Art Class.
Once the clay was cut out and fired on 04 slow holding at 10, the bisque was ready to embellish as an ornament of your choice. This year was a snow globe theme. They used acrylic paint to design the winter scene. Once the scene was designed, they dried and she used a sealer on top. (polyurethane spray)
