Burton Morris! Great Pop Art Lesson for my middle school classes but could do with a lower grade.
How did it go down?
I showed this Burton Morris video. He talks about when he was a kid and fell off the monkey bars and had to lay in bed for a few months. So, what did he do? He did art and that is where his love for art started! Click HERE for Burton Morris Video about his childhood
What are monkey bars and why in the world did our schools have them? Talk about danger zone! I guess they gave the local doctors some good business!
Next, I showed a video how Burton Morris' work took off because David Schwimmer on the Friends series was wearing one of his t-shirts! Click HERE for the Burton Morris' Friends Story
After video city, I gave the kids a handout of his work. They drew and put their spin on his art.
They used acrylic to paint.
When they were done painting, they put bold outlines around their art.
