Heart Art for Valentine's Day

The twisted hearts idea evolved from Cassie Stephens via Pinterest.  You can find the post for my inspiration at Cassie Stephens .  Kuddos to her for 1st Place Art Ed Blog of the year 2015!  Check her out, folks!  Good stuff!

Directions:

The Twisted Hearts Art was done by First Grade.

They chose 2 pipe cleaners.
They attempted to twist the 2 pipe cleaners together.  Some were successful, others required Mrs. Ray to twist and shout.
After the pipe cleaners were twisted securely, the kids began to bead.
Once beaded, the kids had to twist again.
They twisted, pulled, and formed a heart.
The last thing the students did was wrap yarn and beads around the hearts.

The kids really enjoyed the activity.  It made a mess, but I think the product was a success!
