What is the Chalk Walk in Tallahassee? It is in place to help us celebrate Arts & Culture with our fourth annual Chalk Walk event in Waller Park at the Capitol Plaza. Students from local high schools will recreate works by Florida artists in chalk. The day will also feature performances by local area school groups. This event is a partnership with COCA / Tallahassee Arts and Leon County Schools and follows the Florida Cultural Alliance Arts & Culture Day celebration on January 22nd.

WOW, front page... thanks Tallahassee Democrat and Alicia Devine for these great photos of 2020 Chalk Walk! The event is produced by COCA and our partners Florida Division of Cultural Affairs and Leon County Schools to showcase arts education advocacy in conjunction with Arts & Culture Day at the Florida State Capitol.
Thanks to our sponsors Awards4U and Gaines Street Pies. The event featured 34 student teams recreating original works by Florida artists in chalk on the sidewalk. Participating high schools - Chiles, FSU School, Godby, Leon, Lincoln, Maclay, North Florida Christian School, Rickards, and SAIL. Performances by the Hartsfield Elementary Chorus, Montford Musical Theater Students, Raa Advanced Orchestra, Trinity Troubadours world music percussion ensemble, SAIL Music Ensemble. Screenprinting was provided by art students at Lincoln and Rickards High Schools. A special thank you to artists Sarah Painter & Cosby Hayes with SPCH for your special contribution!
