Whitney Snow's STEAM PD (EDTA's National Conference)

Our Theatre Arts Teacher, Whitney Snow, at Maclay Middle School nailed this professional development! I was so impressed I could not wait to blog about it and share with you all.

Through the implementation of integrated curriculum, teachers help kids see the connections and relevance between subjects. Integrated curriculum is a student-centered approach to teaching. In teaching with an interdisciplinary approach, students are often given a choice, making the subject inherently more meaningful.

An integrated curriculum is described as one that connects different areas of study by cutting across subject-matter lines and emphasizing unifying concepts.Integration focuses on making connections for students, allowing them to engage in relevant, meaningful activities that can be connected to real life.

So, you see Whitney went to this conference and it was so fabulous on many levels that she brought the information back to Maclay School. Asked to present what she had learned and sent me all the links and information for me to share with you all! You can tell by the photos that it was very interactive for a professional development for our faculty and staff.
I sure hope the photos and resources help to inspire you the way she inspired
 us!
