Chalk Walk In Tallahassee

The Chalk Walk event at the state Capitol, an initiative by Council on Culture & Arts and Leon County Schools, helped students create sidewalk designs on the Historic Capitol grounds for visitors this past January.

What is the chalk walk?
Inspired by master Florida artists, local high school students will create 36″x36″ chalk artworks to share with the community. Students will work in an outdoor area between the House and Historic Capitol (north end of the courtyard) from 10:00-3:30 and the finished artworks will be judged by board members from the Florida Council on Arts and Culture. The general public can choose their favorite artwork through a People’s Choice Vote at 4:00. Awards will be announced at 4:30.

What a wonderful way for our students to get involved in the community with ART!
We are proud of who all participated and for Ms. Maurey for leading the way for the project.

Chalk Walk This Way...see what I did there =)
