Donuts for Dudes

So, Cathy did a thing. She had students create clay Donuts for an event on campus. You can see the sign and flyer below. Once the Donuts were bone dry greenware, we placed them in the kiln and bisqued them at Cone 04 on slow. Time was of the essence, as she sees classes once a week. She had a great idea to spray paint the bisqued donuts. Then the students were to add "sprinkles" on top with seed beads. The donuts were then adorned with a wire and bead hanger.

Once they completed this they were individually wrapped for the Donuts for Dude's event on campus at Maclay Lower School. This lesson required lots of teacher prep but the end result was worth it...don't ya think? Huge thanks to MPO for helping with this project.

I just wanted to give Cathy a shout out as we will blog on some of her art later. Her Lower School art room is creating some aWeSoMe aRt. Can't wait to share with you all!

Thanks for stopping by, 1969
