At our art camp, we had an exciting visit from a guest artist who introduced us to Lucy from "Last Chance Trailer Park" by Mavis Stevens. Lucy is a lovable character who lives in the Last Chance Trailer Park and has many friends with unique and fun personalities.
Our young artists got creative and used clay slab rolled ornaments of Lucy's friends. Everyone enjoyed using the bisqued clay, using watercolor and crayons to design these chicken shapes, and adding special details to bring these characters to life. Each one definitely has individual characteristics. It was amazing to see how each ornament turned out so differently! We all reflected and agreed that the creative campers imaginations just soared on this project. Campers can hang on a Christmas tree or leave out all year long.
The art campers had a fantastic time learning new techniques and expressing themselves through art. It was a joy to see their excitement and pride in their creations. We can't wait for more art adventures and guest artists in the future!
