What is Graffiti?
Graffiti Lesson

Graffiti is all about words. And words matter.
Words bring ideas to life. Words shape our
understanding of the world and connect us as
members of a global community.

Choose a Character Education Word:

Honor

Leadership

Gratefulness

Kindness

Compassion

Responsibility

Determination

Courage

Confidence

Enthusiasm

Honorable

Accountable

Respectful

  Honor Code Words:

Honorable

Accountable

Respectful

I looked for several examples to explain graffiti. I found many resources on social media. The kids were instructed to pick a word and illustrate it in a graffiti way. This was a wonderful way for me to work in school wide curriculum of Character Education and discussing our new Honor Code.

Easy Giraffe Art Project

Fourth Grade made giraffes!

Directions:

Day 1-
Show Giraffes Can't Dance-Link Below (4:07)
Give the students a handout with pictures of giraffes.
Kids draw giraffes with pencil.
Kids paint background with tempera paint.
Day 2-
Paint the giraffe with tempera paint.  We used the hairdryer because I wanted the kids to complete the project.  When the giraffes were dry, they highlighted with oil pastel.

Here's a colorful project for a dull wall!

I found this cute song on YouTube.  I think it would be better for 3rd Grade and below.  I love this cute book and song!
The Book is Giraffes Can't Dance by Giles Andreae.
Oh, the song?  It is played on ukulele by vancemo. (click here for link of his other songs)  Thanks, vancemo!
