Chris Uphues Clay Hearts

Happy Valentine's Day with a little Chris Uphues Clay Heart Project!

What to do?

The Project Directions:

First...This project is teacher labor intensive.  If you are not in the mood to work, just move on to the next project on Pinterest!

Teachers, you must roll out some slabs and put Saran Wrap over the slab and cut hearts with a cookie cutter.  Work it, folks.
Then, the kids come and slip and score some eyeballs and draw a smile and other decorations with a pointed tool.
Teachers, you have to put a hole in the hearts for hanging, if you want the hearts to hang.
Fire the hearts!
Kids paint the hearts.
Teachers, you get some wire on the hearts or get whatever you want to hang the heart.  I chose wire because I had excess wire that I needed to use.  My hands are still torn up and tired.  Wire is good because the hearts were quite heavy.

The kids take these cute hearts home and tell their family about artist Chris Uphues.
