snow, milk, bread...and PicMonkey

by karen #1965 third grade teacher...So in Georgia it just about never snows.  The mention of "snow" by the local weatherman can be very risky...as in death threats if it does not snow.....So, if the meteorologist says snow, it better snow.  Once the weatherman puts it out there, well the anticipation begins to build in the minds of the southern folks.  In schools, students become very excited.  Teachers become more excited and do the "I am so happy it is gonna snow dance" (honestly about a day off from work...not really about the snow).  I have even heard teachers tell children to sleep with their pajamas inside out to bring the snow.  If school is cancelled, we dash to the grocery store for the bread and milk.  And then, we all just sit home and wait...  We look out the windows trying to spot a white flake or 2.  It reminds me of the Dr. Seuss Book, A Cat in a Hat.  Take a gander...

When it falls, we get the cameras out and take pics.  Of course, we must share with all on Facebook.  I chose to share this photo.  I did a little editing on PicMonkey (got rid of a few wrinkles...and a little bit of the muffin top...and added a few words)....  It is a free site and it has lots of options.  Check it out http://www.picmonkey.com/
Here is the pic that I chose to edit and share to the world...

  1. From here in snowy cold northern NY, I'd like a little southern sunshine, please....

I was so excited to see your post show up in my feed! I often wonder what happens to bloggers who - poof! - just disappear off the radar screen. Is this return to bloggy-world short-lived or will we be seeing more from you?
