Elementary Art, Spring Flowers

Hey there! In our elementary art class with Cathy Hicks this spring students created these cool flowers! Spring has sprung, inspiring them to create something truly special – abstract flowers filled with vibrant warm and cool colors! Let's journey through our artistic garden and see how we've brought the beauty of spring to life for their take home portfolios.

Warmth and Coolness: We explored warm colors like fiery reds and sunny oranges, as well as cool colors like calming blues and fresh greens. By blending these hues together, we captured the cozy warmth of a spring day and the refreshing coolness of a gentle breeze. You can see that other colors were blended like some pinks to make a bright aesthetically pleasing painting.

Exploring Abstraction: Who says flowers must look like real ones? Not them! They let their imaginations soar as painted abstract flowers, each one as unique as they are. Abstract art is about expression in your own way, so this lesson was a   creativity way to bloom freely.

These paintings evolved, they added touches to make them pop! Layering colors and experimenting with techniques like blending gave the flowers depth and texture, making them dance. Just like flowers in a garden, each painting was unique. Some were bold and bright, while others were soft and subtle. But each one was a masterpiece, a beautiful reflection of these individual artists.

Food for thought, these abstract flowers may not resemble real ones, but they're just as vibrant and full of life. As we continue to grow and bloom as artists, we know the possibilities are endless.

Keep creating, keep dreaming, and keep blooming, friends! Wanted to share as this would be a quick and easy lesson to close out the end of the year. Thanks, Cathy, for letting us post!
