Getting Art Ready for The Festival Of Trees (Picasso Theme, US Art)

Each year our Maclay Fine Arts Team participates in the Festival of Tress in Tallahassee. We pick an art theme for our tree. We have 4 art teachers PK-12. This years theme is Picasso....student choice. These are examples of the US paper cubist portraits.

What is this event? Join us Friday, November 17 for the Festival of Trees annual Preview Party where you will enjoy food, drinks, music and get the first look (and opportunity to bid) at this year's creatively decorated trees and wreaths. Then come back on the 18th for the Festival of Trees where you can bid on amazing, unique handcrafted Christmas trees and wreaths for your home or to share with others. Bring the kids to see Santa and enjoy all this event and Goodwood has to offer. All proceeds go to Big Bend Habitat for Humanity.

Links for Picasso Biography:
Pablo Picasso was the most dominant and influential artist of the first half of the twentieth century. Associated most of all with pioneering Cubism, alongside Georges Braque, he also invented collage and made major contributions to Symbolism and Surrealism. He saw himself above all as a painter, yet his sculpture was greatly influential, and he also explored areas as diverse as printmaking and ceramics. Finally, he was a famously charismatic personality; his many relationships with women not only filtered into his art but also may have directed its course, and his behavior has come to embody that of the bohemian modern artist in the popular imagination.

Stay tuned we will be linking back to our other ornaments in the Picasso style with our other divisions in the school.
