Have you heard of Hunt Slonem? If not, you're in for a treat! Hunt Slonem is a super cool American artist who paints, sculpts, and makes prints—but he's most famous for his colorful, energetic bunny paintings!
Hunt was born in 1951 in Kittery, Maine, and started painting as a kid thanks to a little nudge from his grandpa. He even remembers wanting to be an artist all the way back in 1st grade!
Because his dad was in the military, Hunt moved a LOT growing up. He lived in Hawaii, Virginia, Connecticut, California, and Washington State—talk about a tour of the U.S.!
He went to college at Vanderbilt University in Tennessee, but later earned his degree in painting and art history from Tulane University down in New Orleans, Louisiana. After graduation, Hunt packed his paintbrushes and headed to New York City, where his art career really started to hop in the 1970s!
Today, Hunt is best known for painting bunnies—lots and lots of bunnies. And just like real rabbits, his bunny paintings have multiplied over the years!
