I decided to try the project with my 5th graders using oil pastels. It was a 2 class period project. I think the kids all felt successful.

Directions:
The kids picked a dog of interest.
The kids penciled the dog and changed it up a bit, if they so desired.
The kids used oil pastel to color the dogs.
Kids finished up project by outlining.
Nice doggies.
Here's a song about a poodle named "Quiche Lorraine".
It might make you go insane.

So many talented kids you have! And it looks like they had a lot of fun. Thank you so much for crediting the original inspiration. If only more people would do that!

ReplyDeleteI was pretty excited to see this - always nice when kids are inspired by an artist. I am also happy that I own a few bits of CindyD's artwork - I think when my kids is old enough I'll get her to do stuff like this :D
