Second Grade loved using acrylic paint. I would think that would prefer the tempera cakes or watercolor, but I am so wrong. They would pick acrylic any day of the week.
Directions:

The kids drew flowers.
The kids painted the flowers.
The kids painted the background.
The kids use sponge dabbers, if they wanted to use sponge dabbers!
The project took 2 class periods, but was well worth the time!
