Printmaking with Third Graders was a perfect pre-spring break art lesson. The kids loved the process.
Directions:
To begin the actual art project, I had the kids draw a large bunny๐ on a 4 x 6 paper. They practiced and practiced until they were happy๐ with their bunny๐.
Once they got the perfect bunny๐, they penciled the bunny๐ on the foam.
When they got the bunny๐ penciled on the foam, they used the butt of the paintbrush๐ to make the pencil✎ grooves wider.
With much excitement, the inking process began! I use the water soluble ink from Dick Blick.
I think the prints are just Hippity Hopping Awesome๐๐๐!
L๐K:
With printmaking, you have to be totally organized. If it is one of those not so on top of things weeks, do not do printmaking. Printmaking is a great project for kids. Yes, it is a bit messy, but results are so worth it!

Over the last few days, I had a reunion with my college roommates. Oh what fun! Luckily, it was my spring break☀ and they had flexible schedules that allowed time for the reuniting at the beach๐ด. In Jodi's kitchen, there is a sign that reads "This Kitchen is For Dancing"๐. We danced for four solid days, and not just in the kitchen.
Here's a few shots from our pre-walk on the beach๐ photo๐ธ shoot.
Our favorite sing and dance song was Harper Valley P.T.A. by Jeannie C. Riley.
Sometimes, you gotta find a way to push the reset button ๐ฒ.
