Have extra cardboard sitting in storage? Get the cardboard out and make collagraphs.
Directions:
Prep Work:
I cut lots and lots of 1 inch strips of cardboard. This made the projects so much easier for the kids.
I chopped 8 x 8 inch squares of cardboard so they could trace and cut circles.
The Kids:
1-Painted 2 squares with acrylic on paper (let dry)
2-Traced and cut a circle out of big squares of cardboard
3-Cut and placed pieces of cardboard around the circle
4-Hot glued the design to the circle cardboard
5-Rolled acrylic paint on the cardboard with the design
6-Placed the painted paper on the cardboard with design
7-Cleaned off cardboard with design (paper towel and water)
8-Rolled acrylic paint on the cardboard with the design
9-Placed the other half of the painted paper on the cardboard
I really let the kids run with this project. By run, I mean they had freedom. Here's George Michael singing about freedom.
