This surfboard was mosaic-ed by Maclay Middle School Students in Art Class with me.
We used basic mastic to stick the pieces down.
We used pre-mixed grout to fill in the gaps.
The cool mirrors were added for decoration.
This was time consuming as it took forever to set up. We attributed that to the whacky Florida weather.
It was worth the wait!
We placed the mirrors on to get a feeling of what it was going to look like.
Had kids get busy gluing them down in place.

WE made sure the surfboard was clean. This was a must with a straight edged razor blade.

The 36th annual Maclay Auction entitled ‘Una Noche Cubana” (A Cuban Night) will take place March 4th, 2017 at the brand new Champions Club at Doak Campbell Stadium. “Una Noche Cubana” will be a memorable evening filled with samplings of Cuban cuisine and music, superb silent auction items, and a spirited live auction. The evening is a wonderful opportunity to come together with other members of the Maclay family in support of our remarkable school. There are many areas the Board of Directors has identified for continued enhancement of our great school. Some of the funds generated from “Una Noche Cubana” will be dedicated toward the continued improvement of Maclay’s facilities, with a special focus on increasing and improving safety and security. Maclay’s commitment to these key areas for our children and our campus is a top priority.
We ask for your support for Maclay and “Una Noche Cubana” by considering the sponsorships that are available this year. With the El Presidente and La Habana table purchases, you will be guests at the exclusive preview party called “Velada”, and revel in the sights and sounds of Cuba on January 28.
