STEAM Style Chess Set

Chess pieces created in art class using nuts, bolts and screws.

Alcohol Inks were used to add color.

They were sanded lightly to give them texture.

Charlie Williams helped create the wooden base.

Glass tiles were ordered online from Amazon.

The glass tiles were 2 inches.

Kids had to research the history of the chess set and pieces.

We used E6000 and Super Glue to help keep pieces in place.

It turned out very STEAM'ish

Extra details were added by using the wire.

This was the grouting phase.
This piece was sold at the school auction.
Pretty cool idea =) Just wanted to share!
