Middle School Kids Give Clay Slabs a Voice of Choice

My middle school students really enjoyed this clay project.  I encouraged them to pick a word.  I did not care if it was their name or what, just a word.

How did this go down?

Once the students got a word picked, I cut a slab accordingly.  I would say the average slab was 2 inches by 6 inches.

I cut more slabs so the students could easily cut out letters.  Some used stencils, some just freestyled.

A few added some cool details.  I like the cool details.
