North Florida Fair Art Show - Our Maclay Middle School Entries

Hello All! I thought this would be the best way for me to communicate our Middle School Fair Entries this year. You can find the details below on the dates and how we submit. When we choose the art for the fair it is like playing Jenga with many pieces. We don't want our our students competing against each other, so we have to craft how we enter certain pieces to do this to avoid too many in one category.

I am blown away with the student art this year. Coming off of  a pandemic and non-traditional art last year on a cart and not in the art room. These students have knocked my socks off!

I will do a follow up post after the fair with all the other division's art in it, so if you don't make it out you will get so see what talent we have at Maclay! Our Visual Arts Department is unique in that we follow a true spiraling art curriculum PK-12. We have 4 art teachers and we communicate and collaborate on a regular basis.

We have blogged on the North Florida Fair Art Show before, so check out the links below:

Due to the timing on the fair our art is usually heavily weighted with Quarter 1 Art. Most of our shows are during the fall. Weird, I don't know why but I am just glad that I am able to share these pieces with you and all of the folks that visit the North Florida Fair!

Thanks for stopping by 1969 (aka Mrs. Daniel)

For those of you that don't know, my sister is an art teacher too. We decided that we wanted to have a "project" to work on while we taught. This would give us a connection while we lived in different states. So, we started this blog in 2010. It has just gone bonkers lately. We can track the number of hits that we have. Last month we had over 79,000 hits looking to see what we have posted. Yes, we post family stuff here too, but it is just because my family is very ArTsY!

Recently, we have had art education majors in college programs reach out to us and ask for guidance. So, my mama would be proud that we are giving back to other's and being kind to help people not to have to re-invent the wheel. I am super happy that I have your child in art class with me. Some of the students that I had a relationship with didn't have art this year as of yet; but we are connected from 2 Soul Sister's Summer Folk Art Camp 2021 at Maclay and other's they are in Sketchbook Club. Grateful for these relationships!

Kudos to all you parents that help foster their creative energy and vibe!
