Jacy Good on the potter's wheel...What What?

Have you ever heard of Jacy Good? She has a heart wrenching story of distracted driving. You can learn about her from the links below. Kaitlyn our high school ceramics teacher invited Jacy and her husband to come back to the art room and throw on the wheel after her presentation to our upper school students. We then fired their pots and put them in the mail. Yup, the care package is on the way to them.

Getting acquainted on the wheel again.
Sending a few of our eMpathy hearts in the care package.

And both bowls turned out great!

On May 18, 2008, Jacy Good and her parents attended her graduation ceremony at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania. On the way home, a young driver talking on his cell phone ran a red light, causing a tractor-trailer to swerve and crash into the Goods' vehicle. Jacy was critically injured, and both of her parents, Jean and Jay Good, were killed instantly. Jacy spent four months in the hospital and still spends much of her time in physical and occupational therapy.
Jacy is now an advocate against distracted driving.

Each day nine people are killed by distracted driving, leaving their stories unfinished. We honored Shreya by bringing her Unfinished Story to life, through imagining what could have been. Watch, share and please don’t drive distracted.
