Torn Paper Tree Wonderland Created by Kindergarten and Cathy Hicks

This lesson by Cathy Hicks in our lower school at Maclay taught many different skills to our Kindergarten classes. This is a great way to introduce tints and tones of a color. Tearing can be very different from cutting with scissors too. I was walking down the hallway and commented to a friend on all the trees and how they were the same but different. The students added texture with those dabbles of paint. This bulletin board was a topic of conversation as we were all back on campus today milling around getting our groove on for 2019.

Thanks Cathy for allowing us to share - love all the layers of things being taught in this one lesson!

    1. Hey! I do believe this was our LS Art Teacher at Maclay that taught this lesson. She used tints and tones of green paper. They layered them. She does a great job at getting everyone involved. The Bulletin Board was the installation.
