Easy First Grade Froggie Art Lesson

Great project for first grade at the beginning of the school year.  As I have mention in recent posts, I have just returned from a trip to Giverny.  For the Giverny posts, click HERE!  I ran across these cute frogs online and thought that I could adapt them for this lesson.  Here's the how to!
Directions:
Prep Work-I chopped bleeding tissue paper into little squares.

The kids painted water on their paper.
The kids laid the tissue paper down.
The kids LOVED watching the paper bleed.
I told the kids that we would not take the tissue paper off until the following week.
We placed the wet paper with bleeding tissue paper on the drying rack.

The following week, we had a "grand reveal" of their artwork.
The kids individually came up and got their paper with tissue paper.
They shook their paper until the tissue paper fell off.  Some of the tissue paper had to be nudged a little to get it to come off.
The kids proudly displayed their cool, color art.

Prep Work-I had cut the body, belly, and glued the google eyes on the frog.
The kids had to place the frog on the paper.
Then, the kids used pencil to draw the arms and legs.
After they were happy with the arms and legs, they went over the pencil with sharpie.

Cute, huh?

  3. Love this! Just curious if it is regular paper or if it is a special type of paper.
