Overlapping, Color and Patterns

I needed a 2 or 3 day lesson at the end of last quarter. I thought this was a good time to cover a few more items like Elements and Principles. I had the kids trace masking tape circles on the inside and outside to create overlapping lines. We agreed up to 10 circles. They did this with Sharpie. Once the lines were complete they needed to pick their color scheme. They could choose their medium. (colored pencils, markers or crayons) Each shape made had to have a different pattern in it. When hung up all together. These are most impressive. I am sure you could tweak this to meet your own classroom needs, but this lesson was very successful.
