Super Heroes Picasso Style (Mike Esparaza)

I found this lesson on Pinterest. It was originally pinned from  Mike Esparza.

This was a High School Art Project: If Picasso Drew A Superhero. Talk about abstraction, creativity, color, representational vs realism, and portraits.I decided to take it on for middle school art. I think our results are stupendous!

We revisited traditional art and reinterpreted it with characters or themes from our popular culture. Check out the Art Gallery! All I can say is thanks for sharing Mike!

Materials: We used 9x12 white drawing paper, oil pastels, reference photos from Mike Esparza and Super Heroes examples. Mini Picasso Art History Lesson...and viola - all were successful!
