Creating Artsy Invitations

Well, it is that time of year...Yes, we have a January birthday in our family. I swore I would never get married in June or have a baby near Christmas. Ha! I did both =) Never say Never...This year we thought it would be cool to just text some information to close family and friends about our Sweet 16th celebration. Being Artsy and a photographer lover, we came up with this idea. Just thought I would share for your creativeness to ponder. The progression of the process is kinda coolzy.
Enjoy, 1969

Snowmen with Fun Hats

Here is how this art activity went down...

I did a little prep work.  I cut the snowmen out.

I gave kids pictures of random hats and they painted it up.

Jenny Lewis, Your Pie Pizza, and Art

Have you ever heard of Jenny Lewis?  Well, my daughter and I really like this actor turned folk music singer.

You may have seen Jenny and not known it.
She was in a Toys R Us Commercial (1984)

She was in Growing Pains (1985)
She was in Life with Lucy (1986)

She was in Golden Girls (1987)

She was in Troop Beverly Hills (1989)
She was in The Wizard (1989)

She was in Roseanne (1989)

She was in Runaway Daughters (1994)

 She was in Foxfire (1996)

She was in Pleasantville (1998)

She was in Atlanta (2014)

We saw her

When the concert was over, we went to eat pizza at Your Pie.
Afterwards, we walked a mile or so back to the car.
We got to the car and my daughter realized she had accidentally grabbed the pizza pan.
She was so excited because she had been given a rose at the concert...I guess she was extra careful not to leave it at the pizza place and she had her HEAD UNDERWATER
and walked to the car.
It was late and I WAS NOT WALKING BACK TO YOUR PIE.
So, we just took the pan with us.
For my Jenny fan daughter, I painted on the Your Pie pizza pan.
I painted the album logo and the setlist in Atlanta.
Great music. Great memory. Great "Unfortunate Stolen Plate".
