big boots and little gates

by karen #1965 third grade teacher i finished this painting on 7/25/01...take a look...
i actually beat the back of an old metal shelf flat with a hammer and then painted on this sucker with oil paint...it reads (if a painting could read),"nancy sinatra said these boots were made for walking, Jesus wants those boots on the narrow road...enter through the narrow gate, for wide is the gate, broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it, but small is the gate...narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few can find it.  Matthew 7:13-14."...so anyway...some guy named doug from virginia bought the painting and he said this about the painting..."i'm not sure why exactly we bought it...my wife's a formal trained artist (i'm a writer myself), but we like to collect art that's more fun, less rigid...looks like someone enjoyed working on it.".........

folks, i did enjoy working on it...and i enjoyed finding this big piece of art that reminded me of the "big boots and little gates" painting in chattanooga...and i thought immediately...blog op!...look at me with it...
now...whatcha think?...you know you think these red legs and my red boots are a lot alike...you think it...

so...you think doug's wife that was an artist may have been inspired by my painting?

maybe...maybe not...

get inspired folks...if not by me or 1969...get inspired by someone or something...hey u out there, i know there is something that inspires you...hey, u!...grab it and hold on loosely...and make it YOURS...

You see it all around you
Good lovin' gone bad
And usually it's too late,
when you, realize what you had
And my mind goes back to a girl I left some years ago,
Who told me,
Just Hold On Loosely,
but don't let go,
If you cling to tightly,
you're gonna lose control
